Does Bandon Dunes sell golf packages?
Not in the usual sense. Bandon Dunes Golf Resort prices lodging and golf separately, and a "package" is simply your rooms plus the rounds you reserve with them. The only published per-person package is the Solstice event — 72 holes in one day on June 22, 2027, from $2,285 per person shared double — and it's already full.
That makes Bandon easy to budget once you know four numbers: the green fee for your month, your room, caddies and food. All five 18-hole courses — Bandon Dunes, Pacific Dunes, Bandon Trails, Old Macdonald and Sheep Ranch — cost the same.
Bandon Dunes green fees by month
Green fees follow the weather. June through September is the most expensive band, May and October are about 10% less, and December and January are roughly a third of peak. A second round on the same day costs half price, which is why most groups play 36 on their full days.
| Month | Resort guest | Guest same-day replay | Day guest | Day guest booked 21+ days out |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| January | $130 | $65 | $180 | $180 |
| February | $175 | $90 | $225 | $225 |
| March | $225 | $115 | $275 | $275 |
| April | $260 | $130 | $310 | $360 |
| May | $340 | $170 | $390 | $440 |
| June–September | $375 | $190 | $425 | $475 |
| October | $340 | $170 | $390 | $440 |
| November | $225 | $115 | $275 | $325 |
| December | $130 | $65 | $180 | $180 |
The courses — and the short courses that steal the show
Five full-length courses, two par-3 courses and a putting course sit on the same stretch of coast, connected by a 24-hour shuttle. Every one is walking only.
| Course | Architect | Opened | Why it's on the itinerary |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bandon Dunes | David McLay Kidd | 1999 | The original — big dunes and ocean holes |
| Pacific Dunes | Tom Doak | 2001 | The clifftop course most groups rank first |
| Bandon Trails | Bill Coore & Ben Crenshaw | 2005 | Dunes, meadow and forest — the best windy-afternoon pick |
| Old Macdonald | Tom Doak & Jim Urbina | 2010 | Huge greens and C.B. Macdonald template holes |
| Sheep Ranch | Bill Coore & Ben Crenshaw | 2020 | Bunkerless clifftop holes along the Pacific |
| Bandon Preserve (13-hole par 3) | Bill Coore & Ben Crenshaw | 2012 | The trip's best afternoon — $60–$125 a round |
| Shorty's (19-hole par 3) | Whitman, Axland & Cutten | 2024 | The newest course; same fees as the Preserve |
| The Punchbowl (putting course) | Tom Doak & Jim Urbina | 2014 | 100,000 sq ft of putting — free for resort guests, no tee time |
Where to stay and what rooms cost
Every resort room is priced per room, per night — not per golfer — so the cheapest per-person option is two golfers sharing a two-queen double, and foursomes do well in a Chrome Lake loft or a four-bedroom Grove Cottage. Taxes are extra.
| Room | Beds | January & December | May & October | June–September |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Lodge Dune Single | 1 king | $170 | $340 | $380 |
| Inn Forest Double | 2 queens | $230 | $420 | $460 |
| Lily Pond or Chrome Lake Double | 2 queens (Chrome Lake: 2 kings) | $260 | $470 | $510 |
| Round Lake Double | 2 queens | $310 | $540 | $600 |
| Chrome Lake Loft | 2 bedrooms, 2 baths, 2 kings | $440 | $790 | $860 |
| Grove Cottage | 4 bedrooms, 4 baths, 4 kings | $1,300 | $2,100 | $2,300 |
What a 3-night, 5-round Bandon trip costs per person
Here's the full math for the most popular plan — five full-length rounds (three at full price plus two same-day replays) and one short-course round — for two golfers sharing a room.
| Line item | Peak summer (Jun–Sep) | Winter (Dec–Jan) |
|---|---|---|
| Golf: 3 full rounds + 2 same-day replays | $1,505 | $520 |
| Lodging: 3 nights sharing a Lily Pond or Chrome Lake double | $765 ($510 a night) | $390 ($260 a night) |
| Carrying caddie on 3 rounds ($125 per bag + gratuity) | $555–$675 | $555–$675 |
| Bandon Preserve or Shorty's | $125 | $60 |
| Meals and drinks, 4 days | $480–$720 | $480–$720 |
| Shared airport transfers | $50–$100 | $50–$100 |
| Estimated total | $3,480–$3,890 | $2,055–$2,465 |
Caddies, walking and carts
Bandon is walking only, and caddies are encouraged but not required. A carrying caddie is $125 per bag, per round, plus gratuity paid directly to the caddie; the resort prefers double-bag loops. A group caddie walks with your foursome without carrying bags — $40 each for four players, $50 for three and $60 for two — and push carts are free.
Riding carts are available only for golfers with a permanent disability that prevents walking: a $30 cart fee, a required caddie, documentation and advance arrangements. If anyone in your group needs one, set it up when you book.
How to book: the 2028 lodging drawings, deposits and cancellations
Bandon no longer simply opens next year's calendar on a single date. Lodging for 2028 is being released through four drawings; if you're selected you get a place in line and the reservations team calls you to book rooms and golf. Entering a drawing is not a reservation. For 2027 trips, contact the resort's trip planners directly — reservations are only guaranteed once you've spoken with one.
The standard deposit is one night's rate for each room plus one 18-hole round for each golfer. For 2026 and 2027, room-and-golf reservations can be cancelled or reduced at least 60 days before arrival; golf-only bookings and groups need 90 days. After that the whole deposit is forfeited, and the organizer is responsible for every confirmed room and tee time — so collect deposits from your golfers before you book.

Getting to Bandon
The closest airport is Southwest Oregon Regional (OTH) in North Bend, about 25 miles and 35 minutes from the resort. United flies there from San Francisco year-round — daily in peak season and four days a week in winter — and seasonally from Denver from May to late October. The alternatives are a drive: Eugene (EUG) is about 2.5 hours, Medford (MFR) about 3 hours and Portland (PDX) about 4.5 hours.
The resort's shuttle runs 24 hours a day but only on property, so book airport transfers with one of its third-party transportation partners.
When to go: wind, weather and value
Summer brings the firmest conditions and the prevailing northwesterly wind; the resort's operations team has called mid-July through September the calmest, most predictable stretch. April–May and October–November are transition months when the wind can switch, and winter is wet but costs about a third of summer.
On windy days, play exposed Old Macdonald in the morning and the forest-sheltered Bandon Trails in the afternoon. If you choose not to start a round because of the weather, tell the golf shop: the round is still charged, but you'll get a voucher for future golf or merchandise — and replay rounds can be cancelled without penalty.
A sample 3-night, 5-round itinerary
This is the plan the cost table above is built on.
- Day 1: Fly SFO to North Bend, afternoon round on Bandon Dunes, dinner at McKee's Pub
- Day 2: Pacific Dunes in the morning with caddies, Bandon Trails in the afternoon at the replay rate
- Day 3: Old Macdonald in the morning, Sheep Ranch in the afternoon at the replay rate, putting match on the Punchbowl
- Day 4: Bandon Preserve or Shorty's in the morning, then back to OTH
Common questions
How much does it cost to play Bandon Dunes?
In 2026, resort guests pay $375 per round from June through September, $340 in May and October, $225–$260 in March, April and November, $175 in February and $130 in January and December. Same-day replays are half price, and day guests pay $50 more.
How much does a Bandon Dunes golf trip cost?
About $3,500–$3,900 per person for 3 nights and 5 rounds in peak summer, or about $2,100–$2,500 in December or January, including shared lodging, carrying caddies, meals and transfers but not airfare — our estimate from the resort's published 2026 rates.
Can you play Bandon Dunes without staying at the resort?
Yes. Day guests pay $50 more per round than resort guests, tee times must be after 10 a.m. and no more than a year ahead, and from April to mid-November booking more than 21 days out costs a higher advance rate ($475 in summer 2026).
Do you need a caddie at Bandon Dunes?
No, but they're encouraged. Bandon is walking only; a carrying caddie is $125 per bag per round plus gratuity, a group caddie is $40 per player in a foursome, and push carts are free.
How far in advance do you need to book Bandon Dunes?
For prime summer and fall dates, as early as possible. 2028 lodging is released through drawings held between October 2026 and May 2027; for 2027 trips, contact the resort's trip planners now. Off-season dates are much easier to get.
What is the best month to go to Bandon Dunes?
Mid-July through September for the most predictable weather, though it's also the most expensive. May and October are about 10% cheaper with more variable wind, and December–February costs about a third of peak if your group doesn't mind rain gear.
What airport do you fly into for Bandon Dunes?
Southwest Oregon Regional (OTH) in North Bend, about 35 minutes from the resort, with United service from San Francisco year-round and Denver seasonally. Eugene is about 2.5 hours away by car and Portland about 4.5 hours.
Is Bandon Dunes walking only?
Yes, every course is walking only. Riding carts are offered only to golfers with a permanent disability, with a $30 cart fee, a required caddie and advance arrangements.
