By the Curated Golf Trips concierge team · Updated · 4 min read
Clubs and travel
- Padded or hard-shell travel case (protect the driver head; a support rod helps)
- Luggage tag and a photo of your clubs for lost-bag claims
- Check airline sports-equipment fees and weight limits
- Alternative: ship clubs ahead or rent at the resort
On-course essentials
- 2–3 dozen balls (more for links or desert courses)
- Two or three gloves, tees, ball markers and a divot tool
- Rangefinder or GPS watch
- Sunscreen, lip balm, sunglasses and a hat
- Refillable water bottle
Weather by destination
Desert mornings can be surprisingly cold in winter, coastal links are windy year-round, and Northern summer evenings cool down fast. Pack a wind layer and a quarter-zip regardless of the forecast; add a full rain suit for Bandon, the Pacific Northwest and Cape Cod.
What the organizer should bring
- Printed or saved itinerary with confirmation numbers
- Pairings and game formats for each round
- A small prize or trophy for the trip champion
- Shared payment app details for settling up

Start a trip requestCommon questions
Should I bring my own clubs on a golf trip?
For trips of three or more rounds, most golfers prefer their own clubs. For short trips or bucket-list resorts with good rental sets, renting avoids airline fees and hassle.
What should I wear at a resort golf course?
Collared shirts, golf slacks or shorts, and golf shoes are standard. Some resorts restrict denim and require soft spikes — check the course's dress code before you go.
